Sample Answer:

In today’s fast-paced world, there is an ongoing debate about whether engaging children in enjoyable activities is more beneficial for their skills and creativity than reading books to them. While both activities have their own merits, I firmly believe that a balanced approach incorporating both is essential for the holistic development of a child.

Engaging in enjoyable activities with children undoubtedly has its advantages. It allows them to explore their interests, develop their creativity, and learn important social skills. Whether it’s playing a musical instrument, engaging in sports, or creating art, these activities provide children with hands-on experiences that can enhance their cognitive and motor skills. Furthermore, participating in enjoyable activities with children can also strengthen the bond between parents and their children, fostering a sense of trust and security that is crucial for their emotional well-being.

However, it would be remiss to underestimate the value of reading books to children. Reading not only exposes children to new ideas and perspectives, but it also helps improve their language and communication skills. It stimulates their imagination, expands their vocabulary, and fosters a love for learning. Additionally, reading books can also instill important values and moral lessons in children, shaping their character and worldview.

In my opinion, a combination of both enjoyable activities and reading is essential for the overall development of children. While enjoyable activities can provide them with practical skills and social interaction, reading books is crucial for their intellectual and emotional growth. Therefore, parents and educators should strive to strike a balance between the two, ensuring that children have the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities that cater to their holistic development.

In conclusion, while some may argue that enjoyable activities are more effective in developing children’s skills and creativity, I believe that a combination of both activities is crucial for their overall development. By providing children with a diverse range of experiences, including both enjoyable activities and reading, we can ensure that they have the opportunity to develop into well-rounded individuals.
