Sample Answer:

Road safety is a critical issue that affects everyone, and there are various opinions on how to improve it. Some people believe that increasing the minimum legal age for driving a car or motorbike is the best way to enhance road safety. However, I disagree with this viewpoint to a certain extent.

Raising the minimum legal age for driving could potentially have some positive impacts on road safety. Younger drivers, especially teenagers, are often seen as more prone to risky driving behaviors such as speeding, distracted driving, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. By increasing the minimum legal age, it is believed that there would be fewer inexperienced and immature drivers on the road, leading to a reduction in the number of accidents and fatalities.

On the other hand, I believe that simply raising the minimum legal age for driving is not a comprehensive solution to improving road safety. While it may address the issue of inexperienced and immature drivers to some extent, it fails to consider other factors that contribute to road accidents. For instance, the lack of proper driver education and training, inadequate enforcement of traffic laws, and the condition of the road infrastructure are also significant contributors to road accidents. Therefore, focusing solely on the age of drivers overlooks these other crucial aspects of road safety.

Instead of solely increasing the minimum legal age for driving, a more effective approach to improving road safety would be to implement a combination of measures. This could include enhancing driver education and training programs, enforcing stricter traffic laws and penalties, improving road infrastructure, and promoting awareness of safe driving practices. By addressing these various factors comprehensively, we can create a safer road environment for everyone.

In conclusion, while increasing the minimum legal age for driving may have some potential benefits for road safety, it is not the most effective solution on its own. A more holistic approach that considers multiple factors influencing road safety is necessary to achieve significant and lasting improvements.
