Some people say that advertising encourages us to buy things that we really do not need. Others say that advertisements tell us about new products that may improve our lives.

To what extend do you agree or disagree?

While some argue mankind purchases unnecessary goods persuaded by publicity, others believe adverts allow people being up-to-date of the latest items which help them to flourish their existence. I partially agree with both statements.

To begin with, people are attracted intensely by publicity, using money which most of the time they do not have. In other words, people borrow money to buy dispensable accessories. Psychology Petter Mackey mentions it with more clarity. “There is a clear tendency of people asking for credits to banks, just to wear the last fashionable clothing or possesses the latest smartphone”. It has been posing severe negative effects in keeping a sustainable livelihood. Consequently, Advertisements are gradually working as a trigger on people to make unnecessary purchases and since that, impoverishing.

Conversely, On many times, advertisements let people know about new scientific advancements. That is drugstore firms invest millions of dollars in publicity to ensure people have enough information about their products. For instance, if there is a better new treatment based on medicine which scientists have recently discovered through a new procedure. The way people is aware of it is via advertising on the media. Therefore, the proliferation of advertisement is significant to enhance the quality of people’ lives.

To sum up, I strongly believe that there is currently a remarkable inclination about people acquiring useless gadgets. And also, having debts which worsen their situation and diminish the country’s stability. On the other hand, Advertising causes the latest scientific breakthrough can be available to the public. Therefore, improve surely the quality of their lives.
